Phillip E. "Phil" Murray, 75, Spring Hill, Florida, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, following an extended illness.
He was born on August 25, 1941, in Elwood to Orville and Nellie (Benefiel) Murray.
Phil was graduated from the former Walnut Grove High School in 1960.
He retired from Likens Farms and had always worked as a farmer.
Phil enjoyed baseball, NASCAR, and old westerns.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sherra (Ramey); seven children, Scott (wife, Dena) Murray of Jeffersonville, Letitia (husband, Ted) Henley of Louisville, KY, Doug (wife, Irene) Lane of Spring Hill, FL, Daniel Lane, Jr. (fianc, Annette Drake) of Spring Hill, FL, Stoney (wife, Linda) Lane of Arkansas, Ronda (husband, Doug) Cooper of Crestview, FL, and Melonie (husband, Randy) James of Elwood; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Gene Murray of Frankton; and a sister, Pat Hall of Frankton.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Emery, Richard, and Dale; and two sisters, Juanita and Virginia.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana. Burial will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, August 4, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana.
