Philip E. Lavelle, Sr. 71, of Anderson, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at his residence surrounded by his wife and four children.
He was born in Anderson on October 6, 1944 to the late Paul and Katherine (Frangenberg) Lavelle and has resided in Anderson all of his life. He was working at Wells Fargo where he was a financial advisor for 35 years.
Philip was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Lavelle of Anderson; four children, Andrea Lavelle (husband, Dr. Stephen) Perkins of Carmel, Philip Jr. (wife, Chara) Lavelle, Michelle Lavelle (husband, David) Slabe of Anderson and Christopher Lavelle of Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Caleb, Kiel and Joseph Brenczewski, Addison, Bella and Ruby Lavelle; brothers and sisters, Michael (wife, Marilyn) Lavelle, Kathi (husband, Jerry) Degitz, Paul Lavelle, Jr. and Megan (husband, Chad) Trainor and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Kate Lavelle and his sister, Nancy Lavelle.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Williams officiating. Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Post 266 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with a Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m.
