Pete Santana

Pete Santana, 69, of Pendleton, passed away November 8, 2018 at University Hospital IU Health in Indianapolis.He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on June 26, 1949 and was a Pendleton resident for 42 years.Pete retired from State Farm Insurance Company as a claims specialist following 45 years of service.He received his bachelors degree from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer where he played college basketball as well as playing semi-pro basketball in Puerto Rico. Pete had a love for basketball as well as attending, coaching and watching sports. He was an avid IU Hoosiers and Cincinnati Reds fan.A devout Christian, Pete was a member of REAL Community Church and was currently attending New Covenant Ministry Center. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Debbie (King) Santana; sons, Matthew (Jackie) Santana of Anderson, Daniel (Brooke) Santana of Noblesville and Adam Santana of Anderson; siblings, Delia B. (Kenneth) Parker, Dora (Frank) Palermo, Felix A. Santana, James (Celenia) Santana, Miriam Montanez and Nancy Santana; grandsons, Aldan Santana and Beckett Santana; and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Elsa Milagros Torruella Santana; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Santana, Margaret Santana and Elaine Santana; and brother-in-law, Jorge Montanez. Services will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, Indiana 46064 with Reverend Allen Rawlins officiating. A private graveside service will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, Novemebr 13, 2018 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
