Peggy Joyce Paulsel Stephens

Peggy Joyce Paulsel Stephens, 90, Lapel, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at Community Hospital of Anderson in Anderson following a brief illness.She was born on March 23, 1930, in Anderson, Indiana to John Dewey Mullanix and Ethel Beatrice (Robey) Mullanix.Peggy graduated from Markleville High School in 1948.She retired from West Central Community School Corporation as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Lapel School.Peggy attended Trinity United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful seamstress, loved to crochet, knit, do needlework, and enjoyed gardening. She was fond of her Kentucky roots and often reminisced about her time growing up on their farm. Peggy started a book club in Lapel and was an avid reader. She met with her friends often to play cards and socialize. Peggy thought the world of her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Debby (Bill) Wolfe of Lapel, and Brenda Johnson of Terre Haute; a brother, Harold (Betty) Mullanix of Markleville; two sisters, Madonna Davis of Anderson, and Sue Johns of Florida; grandchildren, Mark (Tara) Wolfe, Marie Wolfe (Steven) Jent, Jodi Johnson (Dave) Sheere, Jill Johnson; great-grandchilden, Lanae, Bodie, Keaton, Natalie, and Nathan. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Neal Paulsel; and her son George Paulsel; and siblings, John Mullanix, Eva Krall, Sylvia Kellams, and Brad Mullanix . A funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana with Rev. Susan Hobson officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel, Indiana.Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
