Pearl Helen Johnson, 99, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024, at Sugar Fork Crossing in Anderson following an extended illness.
She was born on November 19, 1924, in Lancaster, New York to William E. and Gertrude M. (Haller) Kuehlewind.
She graduated from Parker High School in Clarence, New York. She also attended Practical Bible Institute in Johnson City, New York. She was a homemaker and a pastor's wife. She took an active role in ladies ministries in her church.
She was a member of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Pendleton. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, flowers and bird watching, especially cardinals. She loved music and hymns.
Pearl is survived by two daughters, Rebecca (husband, Dick) Vannatta and Ruth (husband, Jim) Pletcher; and a daughter-in-law, Anita Campbell; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years whom she married, June 3, 1948, Rev. Irvin F. Johnson; her son, Rev. Nathan David Johnson on January 21, 2010; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, William and Ethel Kuehlewind; and a sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Joe Muffoletto.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana 46051 with Rev. Aaron Hargis officiating. A private burial will follow at Prairie Memorial Cemetery in Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home.
