Paul Norman “Norm” Learned, 77, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was born August 11, 1939 in Anderson, and lived here most of his life. Norm served in the Navy from 1958-1970. On May 18, 1980 he married Carol Stratman. In 1992, he retired from the US Postal Service as a Supervisor, after 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the American Legion, and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a past member of the Sertoma Club. Norm’s interests included cooking, fishing, traveling, golfing, boating, gardening and playing cards. He loved attending his grandsons’ sporting events and Cincinnati Reds games. He enjoyed watching Peyton Manning play for the Colts and Broncos, plus IU basketball, major tennis tournaments and golf. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Melanie (Lige) Hensley, Kathleen Kemp, J. Michael Kemp, Michelle (Michael) Del Busto and Julie (Rodney) Klaserner; grandchildren, Amber Learned, Zachary Klaserner, Kyle Klaserner, Kole Klaserner, Joseph Del Busto and Raylee Kemp; great-grandchildren, Alexa Klaserner, Hunter Klaserner and Luke Klaserner; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Ray Learned and Mary Louise (Raison) Learned and brother Ed Learned. Visitation will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Saturday December 17th, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a memorial mass immediately following with Monsignor Robert Sell, III officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Daleville American Legion Post #446 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to Right to Life or St. Ambrose Catholic Church
