Paul Eugene Frazier

November 28, 1943 — August 22, 2022

Paul Eugene Frazier, 78, passed away August 22, 2022.

Born on November 28, 1943, Paul was a lifelong Anderson, IN resident and was a 1961 graduate of Highland High School.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Gwen (Pepelea) Frazier and their son, Todd Frazier (Ramona); grandchildren Ella, Caden and Cole Frazier; daughter-in-law Anne-Marie Frazier (Jason, deceased); brothers Tom Frazier (Rosemary) and Jerry Frazier (Cindy); brother-in-law Art Pepelea Jr (Mary Jo); niece Amy Kessler (Joe) and their children Isabelle, Louden, Theo and Cameron; nephew Artie Pepelea (Alissa) and their children Quintin, Morgan and Jackson; many other beloved nieces and nephews; and dearest friends Larry Stottlemeyer (Dorothy) and Charlie Bowman (Cheryl).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucille and Robert Frazier; son, Jason Frazier; brother, Robert Frazier; sister, Betty Newton; and mother-and-father-in-law, Pauline and Art Pepelea Sr.

Widely revered as a tireless workhorse by those who knew him, Paul worked as a tool and die maker at General Motors for 34 years before retiring in 1996. He solidified his self-made success as the owner of Frazier’s Heating and Cooling for more than 50 years, managing the hands-on operations until the time of his death.  During his younger years, to ensure that boredom never crept in, Paul hand-built two of their family homes (with the help of amazing friends like Larry), spent time fishing with Todd and coached Jason’s youth sports teams. Of all his achievements, none was greater than marrying the love of his life, Gwen, and together building a legacy of love and family. Paul’s devotion for his wife and children was immediately apparent to anyone who crossed his path.

In Paul’s later years, he earned perhaps his most precious title, “Pap Pap”, endeared to him by his “sweetheart” granddaughter, Ella. His grandchildren were Paul’s pride and joy. From diaper-changing and lulling them to sleep on his tractor, to attending nearly every performance, school activity and sporting event, Paul was known and loved throughout his grandchildren’s school, sports and social communities. When the life of his son, Jason, was taken much too soon, Paul was honored to step in to provide a constant and stable father-figure presence in the lives of Ella, Caden and Cole. Even during difficult times of his illness this summer, Paul would awe the kids’ sports teams and their families by enduring baseball games during the summer heat and being the best cheerleader in the stands.

Paul truly exemplified what it means to be a husband, dad, Pap Pap, and friend. He will be missed most for his generosity, dry humor, and his unconditional friendship and love.
