Paul Edward Mcconnell

Paul Edward McConnell, 79, of Anderson, passed away July 31, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Gaston on June 5, 1939, to the late Ray & Ruth McConnell. Paul graduated from Summitville High School, Purdue University and Ball State. He worked at Guide for over 46 years in plant engineering, retiring in 2009. He then worked for Racer Trust until this past October. Paul was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on the Board of Trustees for 33 years. He was past president of the Noon Kiwanis Club and was an avid Purdue fan. Paul was a loving husband & father and adored his grandchildren. He was always willing to help family, friends & neighbors with all kinds of projects. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kay McConnell; son, Dean McConnell of Fishers; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Mike Galewski of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Dillon McConnell, Tyler McConnell & Kaylyn McConnell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Tom and Ann Cullop of Anderson and Mike and Christy Howell of Summitville and several nieces and nephews. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Shelloy McConnell; sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Raymond Remington; brother, Jerry McConnell; & in-laws, Charles and Lois Melling. Services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 4, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson Street Anderson, Indiana 46016 with Rev. Corinne Boruff officiating. Visitation will be 4-8pm on Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will take place at Vinson Cemetery in Summitville at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Anderson.
