Otis V. Tad Green, 83, Lapel, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Alexandria Care Center in Alexandria following a brief illness.
He was born on September 21, 1925, in Lapel, Indiana to Ray and Martha (Sylvester) Green.
He graduated from Lapel High School and he served in the Marines during WWII.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling and fishing.
Tad had been employed by Gene Sylvester Heating and Cooling for over 52 years.
He is survived by one son, Don (wife, Petie) Green of Lapel; two grandchildren, Shane (wife, Kim) Green of Pendleton, and Brandy (husband, Scott) Semler of Noblesville; four great-grandchildren, Cayden Moore, Lilly Semler, Caleigh Green, and Jillian Green; two sisters, Dellacine (husband, Ollie) Rutherford of Anderson, and Alice Breese of Lapel; and a friend, Norma Jean Breece Stuller of Anderson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty (Berg) Green; and a son, Rick Green.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
