Orpha J. Craib, 81, passed away on October 15, 2021 at Homewood Health Campus. She was born on June 13, 1940 in Morgan County, IN to parents, Rev. B. Lloyd and Amy R. (Ford) Louks. She graduated from Laketon High School in 1958 and soon began working for Thomson Consumer Electronics as a machine operator. She retired from there in 1996 after working 35 years. Orpha found her spiritual home at Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Noblesville, IN and was a faithful member for many years. She was a devoted organist and pianist for the church. Orpha loved people and she enjoyed sitting and visiting with them. Most importantly, she loved her family. Orpha will be dearly missed by her daughters, Becky (Tim) Stanley and Laweena (Matt) Douglass; her sisters, Vivian Jackson, Naomi (Ronald) Abraham, and Mary Clark; her grandchildren, Roxanne (Andy) Keller, Basil (Carla) Stanley, Troy (Nicole) Furst, Sr., Nicolas “Nic” (Clara) Furst; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Basil T. Craib, Sr.; her son, Basil T. Craib, Jr.; and grandson, Timothy R. Stanley, Jr. The visitation will be on Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will be on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bronnenberg Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Orpha’s name may be gifted to Lakeview Wesleyan Church, Noblesville, IN.
