Ora Alice Breese

Ora Alice Breese, 87, Lapel, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, surrounded by her family and is now resting in the arms of Jesus. She was born on November 12, 1927, in Lapel, Indiana to Ray and Martha (Sylvester) Green. She graduated from Lapel High School in 1945. Alice retired in 1985 from the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson. She was in a bowling league at Coopers in Anderson for many years and was a member of the U. A. W. Local 662. She enjoyed crocheting; playing card games with her family; camping; and following her son's band The New Day Singers. Alice was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and is survived by two children, Patricia (husband, Brien) Scharnowske of Anderson and Jim (wife, Ann) Breese of Lebanon; eleven grandchildren, Danny Breese, Kathleen Singer, Ronnie Busby, Royce (Amber) Busby, Marie Byrkett, Tina Smith, Melissa Smith, Shana Miller, Matthew Pope, Crystal Pope (Jack), and Andrew Pope; twenty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Breese; two sons, Mike and Jerry Breese; a daughter, Janice Busby; two sisters, Helen Jones and Dellacene Rutherford; and three brothers, Otis, Hilbert, and Benny Green. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 4, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Brad Brizendine officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Kidney Foundation or the AIDS Foundation.
