Ollie Rutherford

Ollie Rutherford, 89, Anderson, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2010, at Morrison Woods in Muncie.
He was born on January 5, 1921, in New Albany, Indiana to Byerl and Lucy (Sanders) Rutherford.
Ollie was a WWII Army veteran and he retired from the former Delco Remy Division of General Motors in Anderson.
He had been a member of the Anderson V. F. W. ; the American Legion Post 127; the Anderson Eagles; and Moose Lodge .
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Dellacine (Green) Rutherford; one daughter, Jean Lloyd of Lapel; three grandsons, John (wife, Rhonda) Lloyd, Ron (wife, Shelley) Lloyd, and David Lee (wife, Jennie) Lloyd all of Lapel; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lloyd, Charles and Kenny Rutherford.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 2, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Rev. Neal Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will conduct military graveside rites.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, October 1, 2010, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
