Norris L. Teeters, Sr.

December 8, 1922 — July 4, 2012

Norris L. Teeters, Sr., 89, Lapel, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on December 8, 1922, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Charles and Mary (McDonald) Teeters. He graduated from Lapel High School in 1941 and served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Norris was employed at the former Anaconda Wire and Cable in Anderson and retired from the former McMahon Food in Noblesville. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Thelma (Martin) Teeters ; three children, Charles M. Teeters of Lapel, Norris (wife, Stacey) Teeters, Jr. of Lapel, and Susan Ringvelski of Pendleton; five grandchildren, Charles (wife, Monica) Teeters, II, Melissa (husband, Josh) Vazquez, Reagan Ringvelski, Blaine Teeters, and Tristen Teeters; four great-grandchildren, Kylie, Kadyn, Jaxon, and Ashlyn; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Teeters of Noblesville. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Thelma Wilson; a brother, Martin Teeters; and a son-in-law, Gerry Ringvelski. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, July 7, 2012, at Daybreak Community Church in Lapel with Rev. Richard Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville where the Lapel American Legion Post 212 will perform military graveside rites. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, July 6, 2012, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Daybreak Community Church, P. O. Box 746, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0746.
