Norman M. “Tom” Sharpe, 95, of Anderson, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born on March 4, 1920 in Anderson to the late Howard and Alta Sharpe. He graduated from Anderson High School and had resided in Anderson all of his life.
Tom served in the U.S. Navy and retired in 1983 from NAPA Auto Parts after 36 years of service.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pat Sharpe of Anderson; his son, Rick (Mary) Sharpe of Bloomington; his daughter, Vickie (Larry) Kennedy of Anderson; and step son, Thomas Hamilton of Anderson; two grandsons, Christopher Kennedy of Anderson and Joseph Kennedy of Missouri; seven great grandchildren, John Kennedy, Eli Kennedy, Isaac Kennedy, Cheyenne Kennedy, Gabriel Kennedy, Paige Kennedy and Emma Kennedy.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia (Carter) Sharpe; brothers, Cecil Sharpe and Garl Sharpe; and sister, Virginia “Betty” Merritt.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Steve Merritt officiating.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.
