Norma Jean Smith

Norma Jean Smith, 87, of New Castle, passed away on January 10, 2022 at Reid Hospital & Healthcare in Richmond, Indiana. She was born on December 27, 1934 in Anderson, Indiana to the late Marion and Virginia (Durbin) Gold.

Norma was a Teacher and Librarian for over 35 years. Life member of Zeta Tau Alpha 1957. She was a charter member of New Castle Church of Christ and over the years she attended Wilkinson Church of Christ, Clarksburg Christian Church and the New Testament Christian Church in Hagerstown. She enjoyed reading, puzzles, sewing and photography.

She is survived by her sons, Brad (Madonna) Smith of Spiceland, Kent (Kathy) Smith of Converse, Rodger (Cyndi) Smith of Richmond; Alan (Hong) Smith of Greenfield; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by parents; husband, Scottie Smith; Sister Barbara (Clyde) Marquand; step- mother, Lottie Gold; and two step- sisters.

Services will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, 130 S. Main St., Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with burial at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.

Visitation will be on Saturday from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
