Norma Jean Becker of Anderson, affectionately known as “Jeanne”, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at the age of 93. Jeanne was born on August 20, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri, the daughter of Ruth and Aubrey Hale, and lived in Anderson, Indiana most of her adult life. Jeanne married the love of her life, Ross Becker, in May 1946 after he returned home from World War II. They remained married for almost 70 years until Ross’s passing. Jeanne worked as a Dental Assistant until her retirement. She loved people and wanted to make sure they too knew Jesus as their Savior. Over the years, she served as a Deacon’s wife, Sunday School teacher and choir member. She loved her church family and was a faithful member at Grace Baptist Church in Anderson. Jeanne was full of life and laughter and took an interest in everyone she met. Playing the organ at Lambert’s Music Center was also a favorite pastime. Jeanne is survived by close friends, Bennie and Vicki Price, Jeanne Christoff and Phil and Judy Lambert. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Aubrey Hale; her husband, Ross Becker; brother-in-law and sister, Jack and Allene Walters; close friend, Victor Christoff; and her beloved dog, Dee-Dee. Visitation will be held from 11 am to 1 pm on Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with the service immediately following. Pastor Daniel Stevens will be officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Indiana Christian Academy.
