Norma I. Smithers

Norma I. Smithers, 80, Anderson, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.
She was born on March 12, 1926, in Madison County, Indiana to Glen and Mary (Carson) Haskell.
She retired from Brookside Corp. in McCordsville after 32 years of employment.
Norma was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by four daughters, Karen (husband, Robert) Perkins of Lapel, Sandra (husband, Robert) Spencer of Middletown, Bonita (husband, Stephen) Partlow of Fortville, and Gina Savage of Lapel; three sisters, Janet (husband, Merritt) Forrer of Lapel, Marilyn (husband, James) Coudell of Greenfield, and Judy Beasley of Lapel; one brother, Joe (wife, Karen) Haskell of Pendleton; five grandchildren, Ginger, Crystal, and Stephen Partlow, II all of Fortville, and Lydia and Clayton Savage both of Lapel; four step-grandchildren, Aleta Morales, and Connie (husband, Andy) Stone both of Anderson, James (wife, Stephanie) Perkins of Philadelphia, PA, and LaVonda Snead both of Pennsylvania; seven great grandchildren, Casi Partlow, Becca Hawk, Stephani McDole, Christian Partlow, Zoe Rakosky, Shelby Rakosky, and Emma Jaqua; seven step-great grandchildren, Jake and Cody Gray, Chelsea Spencer, Olivia Morales, Jaden Morales, Emily Perkins, and Zachary Perkins; several nieces and nephews; and a friend, Jeff Savage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard Fox; her second husband, Thomas Smithers; a sister, Phyllis White; and two brothers, William and Arza Haskell.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Gravel Lawn Cemetery Chapel in Fortville.
There will be no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
