Norma Forrer

Former Lapel resident, Norma Forrer, 97, Marshall, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at The Arbors in Marshall, MO following an extended illness. She was born on May 20, 1916, in Lapel, Indiana to Ward and Edith (Huffman) Shetterly. She graduated from Lapel High School in 1934 and receiveed a bachelor's degree from the former Ball State Teachers College. Norma retired from Lapel Elementary School after teaching for 40 years. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel and the Nameless Bridge Club. She is survived by one son, Robert Forrer of Marshall, MO; three grandchildren, Zacary Forrer, Keely Langdon, and Megan Forrer; three great-grandchildren, Madi Forrer, KyAnn and Kelson Langdon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rex Forrer; a brother, Ward Shetterly, Jr.; and a sister, Annabelle Oleksy. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Dawn Cuthbert officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon Saturday, August 10, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606.
