Nicky Rex Toombs

Nicky Rex Toombs, 75, of Anderson, passed away on February 3, 2018. He was born in Anderson on February 3, 1943 to the late Rex and Eloise (Randall) Toombs. He graduated from Anderson High School in 1961 and married Judy (Willis) Toombs. He was employed by Penn Central, Conrail, CSX and retired after 40 years of service. Nick was a member of the Anderson Rifle and Gun Club and the Anderson Moose Lodge. He is survived by two sons, Terry Rex (Kim) Toombs of Pendleton and Erik Dean Toombs of Anderson; his brother, Randy Toombs of Anderson; his sister, Patti (Rinde) O’Brien of Frankton and half sister, Amber Staublin; grandchildren, Ashley (Shane) McGuire of Anderson, Greg Toombs of Anderson, Bo Toombs of Anderson, Aaron Toombs (Ashley Miller) of Noblesville, Tyler Toombs of Anderson, Dirk Toombs of Shepardsville, KY, Dr. Austin Toombs (Dr. Colin Gray) of Lafayette and Ethan Toombs of Pendleton; great grandchildren, Xander, Shylee and Pierce and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy (Willis) Toombs and son, Gregory Allen Toombs. A Celebration of Life will be 6:00 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2018 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with John Willis officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
