Nettie M. Holland

Nettie M. Holland, 95, passed away May 1, 2018. She was born March 11, 1923, in Promorton, KY to the late, Willie and Sarah (Hurt) Phipps. Nettie was a member of Pendleton Community Church of God. She retired from Clean Glove. After retirement, she worked for National Tile, Anderson Laundry and Montgomery Ward and also cared for the elderly. She also enjoyed quilting and playing cards, especially Rook. She is survived by her children, Alvah K. (Evelyn) Holland, Jr., Danny “Buck” (Leeann) Holland, Ronald G. (Linda) Holland and Ann Holland, all of Anderson; 23 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; and brother Cliff Phipps. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvah K. Holland, Sr., son, James E. Holland; and daughter, Sarah Planck. Services will be at Noon on Friday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Steve Merritt officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery, Alexandria. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
