Nathan Thomas Purdue, 35, Lapel, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness.
He was born on November 26, 1983, in Anderson to Jeffrey Thomas and Vicky Lynn (Cox) Purdue.
Nathan was graduated from Pendleton Heights High School in 2002.
He farmed with his parents.
Nathan loved being a father; enjoyed cooking, especially on the grill and smoker. He was very fond of photographing sunsets and storms, animals, and farming. He loved being around water and outdoors.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Dowden; one daughter who he adored, Lauxley; a step-son, Elijah McDole; his parents; two sisters, Nikki Navalo and Amanda Schafer; his maternal grandparents, Keith and Alice Cox; his paternal grandparents, Melvin and Charlsie Purdue; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel with Pastor Tad Finch officiating. Burial will follow in Grovelawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, January 14, 2019, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Nathan Purdue Family Fund, c/o First Merchants Bank, P. O. Box 476, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0476.
