Naomi I. Baker

Naomi I. Baker, 96, Lapel, passed away Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
She was born on June 20, 1921, in Greene County to Marion and Faye (Koontz) Breeden.
Naomi was graduated from Ellettsville High School on Apirl 24, 1939.
She retired in 1990 from Mofab Ornamental Products and had worked at Eli Lilly, the U. S. Army Finance and Accounting Center, and Lapel Schools.
Naomi attended Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel was a member of the Lida Teeters Circle. She also enjoyed her monthly gatherings with The Lunch Bunch.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, needlepoint, cooking and other hobbies. She also loved playing dominos, euchre, and working puzzles. She was an avid Lapel basketball and football fan and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports and other activities.
Naomi is survived by four children, Greg Baker of Lapel, Teresa (husband, Sammy) Ellis of Burkburnett, TX, Sue (husband, Chuck) Strange of Anderson, and Jim (wife, Laura) Baker of Pendleton; seven grandchildren, Bryan Baker of Lapel, Scott (wife, Jamie) Clark and Chad (wife, Jodie) Clark both of Burkburnett, TX, Josh (wife, Beth) Strange of Lapel, Justin (wife, Whitney) Strange of Lapel, Austin Baker of Pendleton and Zach (wife, Kaylee) Durnell of Noblesville; fifteen great-grandchildren, Brady, Bryce, Clayton, Makayla, Chance, Hunter, Asa, Carlie, Irelan, Colt, Emily, Beau, Judd, Luke, and Ava; and two sisters, Marjorie Stephenson of Lapel, and Pat (husband, Ron) Wyatt of Portland, OR.
Naomi was preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 4, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel, Indiana with Pastor Dewey Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 Main North Street, Lapel.
The family would like to thank Rawlins House and Seasons Hospice for professional and personal care provided to their mother.
