Nancy Jane Bennett

Nancy Jane Bennett, 84, Springport, passed away January28, 2017 at her residence. She was born on October 21, 1932 in Anderson to the late Michael and Wilma (McWithy) Kirchner. Nancy graduated from Anderson High School in 1950. She was a Treasurer of the past Luray Nazarene church. She enjoyed playing UNO with her granddaughters, drawing and sketching. She would design holiday cards for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gardening in her younger years. She was known as a good cook, especially her fruit salad, strawberry pie, and her lemon lime kool-aid. Nancy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Lowell Bennett; children, Floyd (Marta) Bennett of Plainfield, Cheri Sturgeon of Monticello, and Kevin Bennett of Springport; grandchildren, Dawn (Greg) Semmler, Floyd (Jodi) Bennett, Amber (Rickie) Pryor, Christina (Tommy) Lyons, Brittany (fiancé Antonio) Sturgeon, Courtney Sturgeon, Shelby Sturgeon, and Kevin Melton; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild due in July; brother, Jack Kirchner of Albany; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mabel Dean, and a brother, Dennis Kirchner. A graveside service will be held on Thursday at 11:30 am at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson.
