Myrtle F. Sczesny, 91, of Anderson, passed away on October 3, 2015 at Bethany Pointe Health Campus.
She was born on June 13, 1924 in Sumter, South Carolina to the late William James and Lou Ethel (Frierson) Stafford. She graduated from Edmunds High School in Sumter, South Carolina in 1942 and has lived in Anderson since 1953.
She retired from Indiana Bell in 1977 after 34 years of service.
Myrtle was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and the Mother Seton Society, Polish Lodge Ladies Auxiliary, Telephone Pioneers of America and was a volunteer at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital.
She is survived by two nieces, Patricia (Earl) Schultz of Sumter, South Carolina and Melinda Fryfogle of South Carolina; nephew, Marshall (Cathy) Jenkins of Melbourne, FL; and several great nieces and great nephews and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore “Ted” Sczesny and nine brothers and sisters.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Father Daniel Shine officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, St. Ambrose Catholic Church or Humane Society of Madison County.
