Mrs. Trudy Evelyn Aselman

Trudy Evelyn Aselman, 79, of Anderson passed away on April 8, 2024, after a lengthy and courageous battle with health issues. Trudy was born on July 21, 1944, in Quincy, IL to the late Willis “Buzzy” and Iola (Trout) Achelpohl. She graduated from Quincy High School and then attended the Illinois Masonic Nursing School and then she received her nursing degree from Meramec Community College in Kirkwood, MO. She married the love of her life, Edward “Ed” Aselman, Jr. on February 16, 1964, and the two were married for 60 years before her passing. Trudy was a registered nurse and worked in many different roles, her favorite being a home healthcare nurse. She retired from nursing after 42 years of service. She was a member of the Indiana Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star and the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Trudy loved surfing the internet for new recipes and then she took her favorite recipes and compiled a book of over 1,000 recipes. She enjoyed watching old television reruns and movies, and reading books from the Anderson Public Library. Trudy was a fighter and had fought for her health her entire life.

Trudy will be dearly missed by her husband, Ed; son, Edward C. Aselman, III of Anderson; brothers, Roger (Nan) Achelpohl of Olive Branch, MS and Crayton (Jan) Achelpohl of Quincy, IL; and nieces, Wendy, Michele, Jessica, and Mary.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home, 515 E. 53^rd St., Anderson, IN 46013. The funeral ceremony will be at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Grovelawn Cemetery in Pendleton, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Trudy’s memory may be gifted to First Church of the Nazarene.
