Mrs. Bonnie Sue Gillespie

Bonnie Sue Gillespie, 63, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2022, surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Fort Wayne.

She was born June 22, 1959, in Anderson to the late, Ernest & Nondis (Alfrey) Symoens. Bonnie graduated from Madison Heights High School in 1977.  She retired from Kroger and had worked as a cashier at different grocery stores. Bonnie was a member of the Eagles Lodge #248.  She had a passion for camping, bowling, and was an avid fan of Elvis & Patsy Cline. In her free time she loved flower gardening and made the most beautiful potted arrangements. Above all else was her love for her family, for her children, and especially for her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Gillespie; children, Micala (husband, David) Sparks-Marcus, Benjamin (wife, Sanne) Sparks, & Timothy Gillespie; grandchildren, Gavin, Gage, Lisa, Anja, & Isaac; siblings, Vicky Delaplane & Michael (companion, Betty) Symoens; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her siblings, Theresa Schryrock & Greg Symoens.

Services will be at 1:00 pm Friday, September 30, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
