Virgil D. “Pete” Hutchison passed away peacefully on April 9, 2022 with his family by his side.
Pete worked for Emge Trucking for 27 years and Red Gold for 20 years, while 12 of those years he was a reserve officer for Madison County Sherriff’s Department. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church for 38 years. Pete drove at Sun Valley Raceway for 16 years. He loved fishing with his grandson/fishing partner, Gabe, and his granddaughters.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Chuck) Hutchison McGuire; grandson, Shane (MacKenzie) McGuire; granddaughters, Brianna (Tirone) McGuire, Hannah (Stalon) McGuire, April Robinett; great grandchildren, Gabby Carmack, Gabe McGuire, Lani Smedley, Elaina McGuire, Isaiah Kelley, Shylee McGuire, Amari Kelley, and Nadalyn McGuire; bonus kids, Tom & Linda Humphries; best friends, Jerry Shelton & Tom Humphries; many nieces and nephews and fur baby, Bailee.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Myrna (Rittenberry) Hutchison; son, Joey Hutchison; parents, Leonard and Dora (Jones) Willis; several siblings; first born great granddaughter, Madison Carmack; grandson, Frankie McGuire Jr. and her fur baby, Petee.
Services will be held on 1 pm Thursday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, Indiana 46013 with Pastor Doug Stein officiating. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on 4-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
