Mr. Michael Lee Day

February 25, 1957 — August 22, 2022

Michael “Mike” Lee Day, 65, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.

He was born February 25, 1957, in Anderson to the late, William Thomas & Nina Alyne (Carter) Day.  Mike was the president of Anderson Transit System, Inc., having also driven and been an aid for the company on its busses, for over 46 years.  When not working he was enjoying time at the lakes fishing and camping. He was an avid bowler until he couldn’t bowl anymore and immensely enjoyed golf. He loved watching sports of all kinds especially IU Basketball, Colts Football, golf, and NASCAR.

Mike is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cinda “Cindy” (Hayden) Day; children, Tracy (husband, Matt) Benzenbower & Michael L. Day, II; adopted son, Corey Elliott; grandchildren, Fayelin (husband, Jared) Beabout, Matthew (fiancé, Charlee) Benzenbower, Colin Grissom, Caleb Day, & Caity Jo Burge; sister, Shirley “Sue” Boyd; step-mother-in-law, Paula Hayden;  best friend, Rodney Riggs; several nieces & nephews; and his new puppy, Stormy. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Wilma Jean “Janie” Holland & Nelda Clark; in-laws, Barbara Hayden & Robert Hayden; and special dogs, Susie & Sammy.

Services will be at 2 pm Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory.

Visitation will be from noon until the time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Humane Society.
