Jack T. Ward, 90, passed away after a brief illness on April 29, 2023, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Anderson, IN on October 29, 1932 to Lyle T. and Mary B. Ward.
Jack graduated from Anderson High School and Indiana Business College. Jack honorably served his country in the US Navy from 1951 until 1955. When Jack turned 18 years old, he was hired as an hourly employee with General Motors. Due to his outstanding performance and work ethic, he quickly became a salaried employee. His first salaried position was a cost estimator in the accounting department. From there he was promoted to Plant Analyst and Factory Accounting Supervisor, later being promoted to General Supervisor of Anderson, IN, Plant Analyst and Factory Accounting. He was proud of each of his positions, but he thoroughly enjoyed his role as the Executive Vice President in Seoul, South Korea with the challenge to develop a joint venture with General Motors Auto Components and Daewoo Automotive Components, LTD. While overseas, he was appointed President for the Aral-Dosery Auto Components Operation in Saudi Arabia and was appointed to the Board of Governors for the International Chamber of Commerce. After retiring from General Motors, he founded Ward International Consulting Firm where he specialized in working with automotive companies in Korea, China, Mexico, and Saudi Arabia. Jack was recognized many times during his career for his exemplary work.
Jack was very active in the community. He was an active member of Kiwanis International, Anderson Exchange Club, Masonic and Shrine Club, and Scottish Rite. He was very active with the Republican Party in Anderson and served as advisor in Junior Achievement. He was a long-time parishioner of Central Christian Church, of Anderson, IN, where he served in many roles, including usher, Deacon, and board member. After moving to Sun City Center, FL, he was a dedicated member of Trinity Baptist Church, serving there as a Deacon, usher, and Chairman of the Vision Program. Jack had a strong faith, loved his country, and cherished his family. He and his late wife, Billie Jean, enjoyed traveling the world and had countless wonderful memories.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Terri (Robert) Chaney, Peggy Wise, and Kathy (Bruce) Ray; grandchildren, Traci Grubbs, Tyler Wise, Evan Wise, Jordan Wise, Austin Ray, and Ashley Faller; great grandchildren, Caleb and Chaney Grubbs, Myles and Madelyn Wise, Jackson and Palmer Wise, Adelyne, Cardamon, and Opal Ray, and Grayson, Madison, and Ethan Faller; several nieces, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Mary; wife, Billie Jean; brothers, Robert and Richard Ward; granddaughter, Summer Nicole Ray; son-in-law, Rick Wise; and one great grandson, Gabe Chaney Grubbs.
Funeral Services for Jack will be held at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St, Anderson, IN, 46013 on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 12:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
