Barnis B. King, 79, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born January 2, 1944, in Crossville, Tennessee to the late, Kit C. & Ruthie (Bilbrey) King.

Barnis was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Masonic Lodge #681. He had worked for Container Corp/Smurfit Stone for 36 years before retiring from Weyehauser/International Paper after another 6 years. He had been an avid bowler and golfer in his younger years, yet continued to fish as long as he could.

Barnis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Paula (Sartin) King; son & daughter-in-law, Troy & Angie King; daughter, Tina King; grandchildren, Rachel & Joshua King; sister & brother-in-law, Brenda & Neal Vandergrift; brother-in-law, Tim Sartin; and several nieces & nephews.  He was preceded by his siblings, Bethel, Claudie, Boyd, Roland, & Truman King.

Services will be at Noon Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery, with military honors.

Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
