Morris Meals

Morris Meals, 81, of Pendleton, passed away September 19, 2018 at his residence.He was born December 13, 1936 in Athens, Alabama and was a Pendleton resident for 10 years. He was a former Jasper resident and Petersburg resident from 1968 to 1994.Morris was a police officer for the Petersburg Police Department for 20 years retiring in 1992.He attended the University of Alabama where he played football. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Petersburg and the Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed doing crafts with his wife.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulys and Louise (Weatherford) Meals; and a grandson, Joshua Meals.Survivors include his wife, Carolyn (Halderman) Meals whom he married, February 19, 1965; children, Mark (Janet) Meals of Brownsburg and Misty (Brett) Clarkson of Pendleton; grandchildren, Hillary Endicott, Madison Clarkson, Laney Clarkson and Kami Clarkson; and great grandsons, Ezekiel Endicott and Elijah Endicott.Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Walnut Hills Cemetery, 1108 N. Vincennes Ave., Petersburg.Arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, 211 E.
