Morris E. Barker

Morris E. Barker, 79, Noblesville, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville following a brief illness.
He was born on March 4, 1930, in Hamilton County, Indiana to Floyd and Thelma (Bell) Barker.
He graduated from Noblesville High School in 1948 and he attended Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
Morris retired in 1992 from the former Public Service Indiana and was a farmer for most of his life.
He was a member of Prairie Baptist Church where he had served as deacon for over 40 years; and Hamilton County Farm Bureau Co-op; and the N. R. A.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ellen (Huffman) Barker; three sons, Richard (wife, Kathy) Barker of Noblesville, Keith (wife, Lora) Barker of Noblesville, and Tim (wife, Jackie) Barker of Lapel; eight grandchildren, Rob (wife, Debbie) Barker of San Antonio, TX, Andy (wife, Bridgette) Barker of Noblesville, Joe (wife, Krista) Barker of Olathe, KS, Amanda Gray of Noblesville, Becky (husband, Scott) Doyle of New Lenox, IL, Alex Barker (fiance, Meghan Dailey) of Coventry, CT, Leslie (husband, Andrew) Barker of Eglin Air Force Base, FL, and Gwenn Barker of Lapel; and eight great-grandchildren, Eli and Anna Barker, Brooke and Blake Barker, Jacob and baby Barker, A. J. Gray, Brayden Barker, and Brianna Doyle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jesse, Edwin, and Victor Barker; and two sisters, Mary Emma Worden, and Nancy Mendenhall.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Prairie Baptist Church in Noblesville with Pastor Nathan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Memorial Cemetery, Noblesville.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday, September 11, 2009, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
