Mildred Glendora Mid Gudgel

Mildred Glendora Mid Gudgel, 86, Lapel, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at Rawlins House in Pendleton following an extended illness.
She was born on March 6, 1925, to William and Leora (Flowers) Jenkins.
She graduated from Lapel High School.
Mid had been employed by the former Delco Remy division of General Motors in Anderson she then owned Mid's Beauty Shop and later Mid and Phyllis Beauty Shop in Lapel being a hairdresser for 40 years.
She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel; the Humane Society; the former Lapel Order of Eastern Star Chapter 457; and the No Name Bridge Club
She is survived by three children, Doug Jarrett of Anderson, Stephen (wife, Cheryl) Gudgel of Anderson, and Pam (husband, Roger) Lawson of Wise, VA; five; grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 54 years, Richard Everett "Dick" Gudgel; three brothers, Harold Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, and William Jenkins; and four sisters, Irene Davis, Ethel Rushton, Helen Cecil Hutts, and Phyllis Shetterly.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 19, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Pastor Doug Barton officiating. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to The United Methodist Women at Trinity United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 606, Lapel, Indiana 46051-0606.
