Michael Steven “Steve” Buck was born September 7, 1950 to William and Dorothy Green Buck in Anderson. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family on August 19th at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson. He was married to Joyce Ferrell on May 21, 1977 they shared 34 years together until her death August 19th, 2011. Steve graduated from Anderson High School in 1970. He proudly served in the US Army from 1971 – 1973. He was an avid sports fan and collector of memorabilia. He retired from Guide Lamp, Division of General Motors after 30 years of employment. He was employed by Hoosier Park Casino until 2011. He was a member of the American Legion and United Wesleyan Church. Steve is survived by: Sister, Connie Markwell Ahlers, Brothers, Jim (Mary) Buck, Robert (Rita) Buck and Don (Barbara) Buck, Nieces & Nephews, Amy (Darryl) Layton, Janet Erlandson, Jamie Johnson, Aaron (Juli) Markwell, Brian Buck and Justin Buck. Several great nieces and nephews. Special brother & sister in law, Rick & Debbie Ferrell, Tennessee. His only living aunt, Lucille Clark Segal, Monticello. He is also survived by several cousins. He was proceeded in death by his parents, wife, brothers in law, David Markwell, and Tom Ahlers. Also, several cousins and extended family members. Services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm at Brown- Butz -Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, 515 E. 53rd St., Anderson, IN 46013 with Pastors Clifton Ashlock and Joe Jackson officiating. Burial will be at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to United Wesleyan Church, 2233 South Central Way, Anderson, IN 46011.
