Michael Robert Minnicus

Michael Robert Minnicus, 62, of Lapel, passed away Monday, August 23, 2021, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis following a brief illness.He was born October 8, 1958, in Monticello, Indiana to Charles Minnicus and Mary Teresa (Bossung) Minnicus.Michael graduated from Delphi Community High School in 1977.He retired as a Detective from the Indiana State Police Department after 34 years. After retirement he worked for Child Protective Services. Michael was also co-owner of the Lapel Bulldog.Michael was a member of the Lapel Eagles, he was a former member of the FOP.He is survived by his son, Ben Minnicus of Danville; siblings, Ann Minnicus of Delphi, Gordon (Kim) Minnicus of Delphi, Jerry (Peg) Minnicus of Delphi, Steve (Tracey) Minnicus of Lafayette, Tim (Linda) Minnicus of Sheridan; special friend and co-owner of the Bulldog, Tara Finley, and her daughter, Lena Bobbit. Michael was also survived by many nieces and nephews, and special friends.Michael was preceded in death by his parents; twin brother, Joseph, and Thomas; and a nephew, Alan Minnicus.A Funeral Service at will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021, at Hersberger-Bozell Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, Indiana. Burial of ashes will take place at a later date in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Reynolds, Indiana.Visitation will from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.Online condolences: www.hersbergerbozell.com
