Michael “Mike” Jared

Michael “Mike” Jared, 68, Pendleton, Indiana, passed away on September 25, 2022, after an extended illness.

Mike was born June 23, 1954, in Bloomington, Indiana. His father and mother, Ronald and Pauline (Koontz) Jared, moved to Daleville, Indiana where Mike graduated from Daleville High School in 1972. After graduation, Mike joined the United States Navy where he served his country during the Vietnam War. Mike held several management positions during his career, including Branch Manager for General Finance in New Castle and Bloomington, and Hospital Materials Manager for Community Hospital in Indianapolis. Mike retired from United Hospital Services in Indianapolis in 2019 after several years of service.

Mike enjoyed camping, cooking, concerts and festivals, gardening, and remodeling houses. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life.

Mike is survived by his parents, sisters Cindy Robbins and Valerie (Brent) Smith, brother Timothy (Marcie) Jared, daughter, Sarah Jared, son Benjamin Jared, one grandson Evan Jared, nieces Holly (Tony) Sniegowski, Kristina Smith, and Miranda Jared, nephews Matt (Carissa) Smith, Andrew Smith, Sam Smith, and Paul Jared, the children’s mother Sharon Riley, and many extended family members.

Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Keith Wooden officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Miller Cemetery, Middletown.

Visitation from 12 to 2 p.m, Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the family.
