Michael Eugene Guard

Michael Eugene Guard, 64, of Pendleton, passed away suddenly on September 18, 2023. Mike was born on November 22, 1958 to Jack and Carol (Thomas) Guard in Anderson, Indiana. He was a 1977 graduate of Pendleton Heights High School. He then married Teresa (Watson) Guard on July 18, 2020.

He was a passionate member of SEI, Scuba Educators International, as an instructor.  Scuba was Mike and Teresa’s favorite pastime while vacationing.  Mike liked to make the most of his family time. Mike was Teresa’s protector and friend.  He loved his grandkids with his soft heart. He relished in spoiling his doggos with daily rides. To look at Mike was to see a big teddy bear named “Bubba.” He was a passionate and loving man that did life his way. He loved to give back to his community and volunteered at Riverview Health as a Transporter. That allowed him to help others get the help they needed.

Mike is survived by his wife, Teresa; sister, Susie (Mark) Siner; step-son, Justin (Jocelyn) Overby; Step-daughter, Breanna (Kyle) Stewart; grandchildren, Hadlee Stewart, Carter Overby, and Zoey Overby; nephews, Nathan (Ashley) Siner, Drew Siner; niece, Brittany (Jeremy) Cummings; and 6 great-nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

It was Mike’s choice to be cremated. The family will celebrate his life at a later date.
