Michael A. “Mike” Veerkamp, 70, of Greenfield, passed away August 23, 2020 at his residence.He was born May 4, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio and was a Greenfield resident since September of 2018. He was a former resident of Newhall, Iowa and Indianapolis.Mike retired from Micro-Poise following 26 years of service.He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mike loved cooking and fishing. He enjoyed woodworking and building projects.Survivors include his beloved wife, Carol A. (Dils) Veerkamp whom he married November 24, 2001; children, Patrick (Jessica) Veerkamp of Basehor, Kansas, Brandy Madson of Indianapolis and Dawn (Greg) Lintz of Anderson; several grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and June (Shoop) Veerkamp.Services at 1 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton with Pastor Jimmy Gilbert officiating and including Military Honors. Immediately following will be graveside service remarks at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Friday, August 28, 2020 at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.Masks are required in accordance with current State mandates with social distancing observed.
