Melba “Jean” Dellingner, 78, passed away peacefully in her home, November 16th, 2023. She was born to the late Henry and Lois (Booker) Yadon in Luttrell, Tennessee on December 16th, 1944. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, Michigan. She met and married Richard Rumler and they were blessed with 2 wonderful children. After his passing Jean found love again with Mark Dellingner. In this union Jean welcomed two more children with her warm and accepting heart.
She began a 20 year career at the Pendleton Correctional Facility holding many positions there. Among those were a pharmacy technician, Jean was a kind, thoughtful friend to all. She showed this by giving gifts of her crafts that she with each friend in mind. She was a devoted and loving mother to all of her children.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie (Gene) Shipp; sons, Todd (Belinda) Dellingner, Troy (Christine) Dellingner, and Rick (June) Yadon; grandchildren, Madison Rumler, Seth Rumler, Channing Shipp, Joshua Shipp, Tara Dellingner, Jerrod Dellingner, Nita Dellingner and Nichole Yadon.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Dellingner, first husband, Richard Rumler; son, Richard Rumler II; brother, James Yadon; sisters, Maggie Minger, Peggy Yadon, Wilma Bell, and Ruby Morgan.
A visitation will take place at Wilson St. Pierre, Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State St., Pendleton, IN, on Tuesday November 21, 2023 from 4pm to 8pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday November 22, 2023 at 1pm With Pastor Michael Canada officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Grovelawn Cemetery.
