Melanie (Michael) Wilder

Melanie (Michael) Wilder, 67, of Anderson, passed away May 16, 2017, at her residence following and extended illness. She was born July 27, 1949, in Anderson, the daughter of the late Chauncy and Gail (Hancock) Michael and lived in the area her entire life. Melanie was member of the Anderson High School Class of 1967. On October 4, 1975 she married George Wilder. She was an avid reader, but her favorite “hobby” was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, George Wilder; children, Sean Ferree, George R. Wilder and Alison Wilder; grandchildren, Belle Turley and Wilder Turley; brother, Rod Michael; sister-in-law, Pauline Michael; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer Wilder; sister, Karen Ferree; and brothers Danny Michael and Steve Michael. Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, at the Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.
