PENDLETON- Max Daniel Mercer, 86, of Pendleton, passed away on October 4, 2018 at Morristown Manor. He was born on June 14, 1932 in Huntsville to the late John David and Precious Jewel (McDaniel) Mercer.Max graduated from Pendleton High School in 1951. He retired from Delco Remy as a Skilled Tradesman in 1997 after 20 years of service. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a member of Community Church of Alexandria, Amvets, and UAW Local 662.He is survived by a daughter, Doris (Fred) Crippen of Pendleton; grandson, Kyle (Desiree) Morse; great grandchildren, Shyenne Brooks and Rosalina Annlee Morse; brothers, John Mercer, Rex (Barbara) Mercer, Dale (Shirley) Mercer, Leland (Linda) Mercer; sisters, Justine Handley, Janet (Roy) Springfield, Judy Tescher; sister in-law, Dee Mercer, and several nieces and nephews.Max was preceded in death by his brothers, Kenneth and David Mercer.Services will be on Thursday at 10:00 am at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory- Lahm Chapel, 211 E. State Rd, Pendleton, IN 46064 with Pastor Patsy Robbins officiating. Burial will be at Huntsville Cemetery in Pendleton.Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pendleton Historical Museum, PO Box 345, Pendleton, IN 46064.
