Matthew Scott Muir

Matthew Scott Muir, 40, of Anderson passed away on November 17, 2020 at Community Hospital Anderson. Matthew was born on August 26, 1980 in Anderson to Jeff and Kathy (O’Brien) Muir. He was a graduate of Anderson High School, and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Air Force. Matthew worked for the City of Anderson in Water Pollution Control. Matthew is survived by his parents, Jeff and Kathy Muir; brother, Tyler Muir; sister, Danielle (Brad) Parker; grandfather, Larry O’Brien; aunts and uncles: Rick (Peggy) Muir, Karen O’Brien, Kelly (Paul) Greulich and Rinde (Patti) O’Brien; nieces: Alexis and Sydney; several cousins, many friends and his dogs: Sparkle, Penelope, Lucy and Cowlie. Matthew is preceded in death by his grandparents: Leon and Joyce Muir, Patricia O’Brien, and aunt, Debbie Reisinger. The family will receive friends starting at 10:00 AM at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home on Monday November 23, 2020. A Celebration of Matthew’s life will start at 12:00 PM. Entombment will take place at Anderson Memorial Park. Matthew would have wanted those attending the services to dress casually. The family would to thank Dr. Moayyed Moallem and the nursing staff at Community Hospital Anderson for all of their loving care. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
