Mary (Tinch) Phillips, 84, of Anderson, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at her residence after an extended illness. She was born March 29, 1934, in Monterey, Tennessee to the late James & Ova Tinch. Mary was a member of Northview Church in Anderson. She worked as an inspector at Delco-Remy, having retired after 30 years. She is survived by her two daughters and sons in law, Terri and Rick Kyle of Alexandria and Latheda and Donald Shaw of Springport, IN; grandchildren, Lei Anne (Mark) Lloyd, Nikole (Duane) Bonner, Michelle Looper, (fiancé, Denny), Heidi (Chris) Tutak, Adam Kyle and Todd Shaw; 17 great grandchildren; four sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews and her loving cat, Glory. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Phillips; sisters, Evelyn Geller and Myrtle Wilson; brothers, Lee Tinch, James Tinch and Clarence Tinch. The family would like to thank a special group of gals for providing loving care to Mary in her home known as the “Glamour Girls” led by Tina Snyder. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Duane Bonner officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Protection League or the Humane Society of Madison County.
