Ms. Mary Nanetta “Kay” Cain

Mary Nanetta “Kay” Cain, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born in Wilkinson on December 28, 1929, to the late Darwin E. & Mary Etta (Wisehart) Wade. Nanetta graduated from Wilkinson High School in 1947. She was a lifelong member of Wilkinson Church of Christ, where she was known for her cooking especially the Wednesday night meals. She also worked as a cook at Eastern Hancock Elementary School and 18 years at Jim Dandy. Nanetta also loved gardening. She is survived by her children, James “Jim” Cain & Sally Cain; and brother, Eddie Wade. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, James Kenneth Cain; daughter, Sandra Kay Cain; and brother, John “Bill” Wade and Robert W. Wade. Services will be at 10 am Saturday at Wilkinson Church of Christ, 7293 N. St. Rd 109, with Pastor Ryan McCarty officiating. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 pm at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Condo & St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Wilkinson. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Greenfield Healthcare Center especially the Reflections staff.
