Mary M. Tooley

Mary M. Tooley, 99, Anderson, passed away April 14, 2017, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Chesterfield due to natural causes. She was born September 10, 1917, in Terre Haute, the daughter of the late Frank and Bertha (Jordan) Egnew. Mary obtained a teaching certificate from Indiana State, and moved to Anderson in the 1940’s. She was a homemaker and made many friends selling Avon for thirteen years. She was a member of Edgewood Baptist Church. She is survived by her six children, Janet Tooley of Florida, David Tooley of Nevada, Phil (Jan Myers) Tooley of Pendleton, Marilyn (Rob) Priddy of North Carolina, Jim Tooley of South Carolina and Becky (Stan) Novakoski of Anderson; twelve grandchildren, Polly Weiss, Danielle Palmer-Corya, Nikki Bleill, April Miles, Drew Tooley, Kyle Priddy, Katie Priddy, Christian Tooley, Jessica Baumann, Bethany Robinson, Hannah Weidman, Daniel Novakoski and twenty-three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Marion E. Tooley and four brothers and two sisters. The service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Rusty Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
