Mary Frances Broderick Edwards

Mary Frances “Sancie” Broderick Edwards, 92, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Anderson. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1942 and then Indiana Business College, subsequently employed as a private secretary and office manager to several businesses in the Anderson area, including the Forse Corporation. In 1968 she left the work force and became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Lady Elks, Mothers of Multiples, and AARP 1686.

Mary loved cooking and baking for her family, reading, traveling, knitting and dancing with her late husband, William “Bill” Edwards. Mary & Bill traveled extensively in the United States and throughout the world, wintering in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Survivors include her twin sons, William Thomas Edwards ( companion, Lois Utterback) and John Timothy Edwards (wife, Janet) all of Anderson; grandchildren, Amy Hamilton (husband, John) of Indianapolis, John Timothy Edwards, Jr. (wife, Christy), and Allison Edwards Jones (husband, Dustin), all of Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Brianna, Nora, and Conner Hamilton, all of Indianapolis, Benjamin & Andrew Edwards of Pendleton; nieces & nephews, Tom Broderick, Jr., Evan & Ryan Broderick all of Anderson, Suzan Broderick, & Katy Walsh of Indianapolis, John Edwards and Jennifer Edwards Blake of San Clemente, CA. Preceding her in death was her husband, William Edwards; parents, Thurman and Louise (Burggraf) Broderick; brother & sister-in-law, Tom & Katy Broderick Sr.

Memorial Services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19 at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory. Inurnment will be in East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Friday until time of services.
