Mary E. Dickerson

Mary E. (Bland) Dickerson, 89, Frankfort, formerly a Lapel resident, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, at Clinton Health and Rehababilitation in Frankfort following an extended illness.She was born on January 30, 1927, in Batesville, Indiana to Theodore and Lorena (Renner) Bland.She graduated from Noblesville High School in 1945.Mary retired in 1985 from the former Fort Benjamin Harrison Army Finance Center in Indianapolis after 35 years of employment.She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lapel and was a loyal supporter of VFW.She is survived by two nieces, Denise (Cherry) Bray of Frankfort and Sherry (Bland) Greene of Pfafftown, NC; one nephew, Howard Greene of Pfafftown, NC.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Eugene Dickerson; a sister, Thelma Cherry; a brother, Raymond Bland; a niece, Davita Cherry and a nephew, Stephen Bland.A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 22, 2016, at Brookside Cemetery in Lapel with Pastor Dewey Miller officiating and burial will follow.Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
