Mary “Daffo” Ferrell, 90, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021. Mary was born September 8, 1931, in Jackson County, Tennessee to the late Jim & Sarah Leann (Lynn) Greenwood. She worked for many years in assembly at AT&T. She was a member of Valley Grove Free Will Baptist Church. Mary was known for her cooking, her love of gardening, by mostly for the pride and love she had for her family and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Willie Ferrell; daughter, Brenda Hughes; grandchildren, Michelle Hughes & Justin Hughes; great grandchildren, Shelby (husband, Ben) Kirkwood, Jayden, Navin, & Kinley Hughes; great-great grandchildren, Bennett, Aubree, Emma, Kendall, & Isaac; sister-in-law, Bessie (husband, Roy) Winkler; nieces, Kim Winkler & Debbie (husband, Earl) Berkebile; and special friend, Peggy Irene Bilbrey. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Forrest, Oplis, Arlis, Leonard, Jean, Lola, & Rajjo; son-in-law, Randy Hughes; and granddaughter, Cheree Hughes. Services will be at 1 pm Thursday, October 14, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory, with Pastor Joe Roysden. Burial will be at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of services at the funeral home.
