Mary Carlos Seal

Mary Carlos Seal, 90, of Anderson, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson.


She was born on January 15, 1933, in Rinnie, Tennessee to Ernest Albert and Carrie Lucille (Green) Ramsey.


She retired in 1993 from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors in Anderson. She was a lifetime member of UAW Local #663.


She was a member of Rinnie Baptist Church in Rinnie, Tennessee. She was the Tomato Queen of 8th Street Road. She enjoyed selling tomatoes on the roadside. Mary was a natural born saleswoman, whether she would admit it or not.


She enjoyed gardening tomatoes, beans and a variety of other vegetables. She was a very talented woman. She enjoyed art, quilting and photography. She also collected antiques. Most importantly, she loved her furry friend (cat), Butter.


Mary is survived by her son, David Seal; three sisters, Loie (husband, Bill) Buck, Alice Byrd, Betty Atkinson all of Rinnie, Tennessee; Two grandchildren, Corey Seal and Samatha Passwater; She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and adopted grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Edgar Seal on March 7, 2002; a son, Evert Ernest Seal on August 20, 1979; her parents, Ernest Albert Ramsey, Carrie Lucille (Green) Ramsey and Mary Alice (Green) Ramsey; and siblings, Grace Martin, Edmond Ramsey, James Arnold Ramsey and Ernest Carl Ramsey.


Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
