Marvin Gentry Neese

Marvin Gentry Neese, 88, Frankton, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2008, at Community Hospital of Anderson following a brief illness.
He was born on February 4, 1920, in Madison County, Indiana to Harry and Greta (Gentry) Neese.
He graduated from Frankton High School in 1938.
Marvin retired in 1985 from the family farm after 47 years of work. He maintained his interest in the farm through his own garden.
He was a member of the Perkinsville Community Church and served as chairman of the adminstrative board for 21 years. He was one of the organizers of the scholarship program for the church. He was an avid tennis player and enjoyed playing at the Southwood Racquet Club and while wintering in Florida.
He is survived by three sons, Ron (wife, Georgia) Neese, Bob (wife, Laurie) Neese, and Bill (wife, Beth) Neese all of Frankton; eight grandchildren, Kim (husband, Mike) Speaker of Columbus, Greta (husband, Dustin) Forrer of Atlanta, Ronda Neese of Phoenix, Jill Neese of Arcadia, Tom Neese of Frankton, Jonas Neese of New Palestine, Jackie Milam of Atlanta, GA, and Anna Neese of Frankton; five great-grandchildren, Evan, Will, and Cody Speaker, and Clay and Grant Forrer; and nieces and nephews..
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Norma M. (Busby) Neese; a brother, Charles Neese; and a sister, Miriam Maslako.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at Perkinsville Community Church in Anderson with Rev. Mark Aleshire officiating. Burial will follow in Neese Cemetery in Perkinsville.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Perkinsville Community Church Scholarship Fund, 2783 Washington Street, Anderson, IN 46011.
